Happy Birthday, Mrs. ‘Dr. Mike’!

All of us at Summit Medicine and Pediatrics want to wish Mary Ellen a happy and healthy birthday!

“You know, there are a few physicians still out there who realize that the foundation of their successful medical practices are rooted deeply in the characters and support of their spouses. And I have always counted myself among the lucky ones. Through the years, Mary Ellen has made and folded into the Lucherini home and family life a culture of patience, flexibility, and stability, without which I would never have been able to achieve such success in medical practice. And my patients all know it… and remind me of it… as well!” — Dr. Mike

ALERT! Extreme Heat Advisory

Happy Fathers’ Day!

From all of us at Summit Medicine and Pediatrics, Happy Fathers’ Day! We honor and remember all fathers who cherish and love their children…

He never looks for praises, he’s never one to boast

He just goes on quietly working for those he loves the most

His dreams are seldom spoken, his wants are very few

And most of the time his worries will go unspoken too

He’s there… a firm foundation for all our storms of life

A sturdy hand to hold to, in time of stress and strife

A true friend we can turn to when times are good or bad

One of our greatest blessings, the man that we call Dad.

Summit celebrates 5 years with NFIB

On June 2, 2017, Summit Medicine and Pediatrics celebrated its 5th anniversary as a proud member of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). NFIB is America’s leading small business association, promoting and protecting the right of their members to own, operate and grow their businesses.

In stride with the mission of NFIB, Summit Medicine and Pediatrics fights hard to protect the privileges of its patients to choose their doctors, to secure access to their doctors, and to receive quality, affordable healthcare from their doctors, and for the privileges of all doctors to expand and manage their own successful community medical practices. We partner in membership because we both fight for the individual–the small business, the patient, and the doctor–who want to pursue, without unreasonable political and economic interference, their needs, desires and dreams.

Thank you, NFIB, and keep up the good work!

Dr. Mike will be out-of-town from Friday, June 16th through Tuesday, June 20th

2016 SMP FB 1

2017.06.01 Traveling

Dr. Mike will be traveling with family to Seattle, Washington to celebrate a special Fathers’ Day weekend from Friday, June 16th through Tuesday, June 20th. During this time, our staff will be available to answer your telephone calls at 480-981-9000 during routine office hours.

Although there is no ‘on-call’ doctor while he is away from the office, Dr. Mike, as always, remains available 24/7 to receive your urgent, direct call on his Summit mobile telephone 480-XXX-XXXX… even while on vacation!

In preparation for Dr. Mike’s trip, please review and complete the following important tasks:

  • MEDICATION REFILLS: Determine if you need prescription medication refills. If you will require authorization of refills of any of your prescription medications within the next 2 weeks, let us know now so that Dr. Mike may do so prior to his departure.
  • APPOINTMENTS: Determine if you need an office visit. If you have ongoing or emerging medical concerns for which you would like to see Dr. Mike, let us know now so that Dr. Mike can see you in the office prior to his departure.
  • LABS AND TESTS: Determine if you are due for labs or tests. If you have bloodwork or radiology testing that are either ordered already or will be due by mid-June, schedule and complete them now so that Dr. Mike can review the results with you prior to his departure.
  • MAJOR MEDICAL EVENTS: Determine if you are having major procedures or surgeries. If you are scheduled to have a major procedure (e.g. colonoscopy, cardiac catheterization, etc.) or surgery (e.g. cholecystectomy, knee replacement, etc.) within the next several weeks, let us know so that Dr. Mike may notify your physician or surgeon to contact him directly for concerns that may arise while he is out-of-town.

At any time, you may contact the office and speak to Marion or Tasha for more information on how to prepare for Dr. Mike’s being out-of-town in June.
