Why do not we have forms that can be completed directly online?

At Summit Medicine and Pediatrics, we take great pains to protect the security of your health information. Unfortunately, exchange of important medical information through forms that have data fields which may be completed on the computer are not encrypted, and therefore transmission of the information would violate federal HIPAA and HITECH Act laws. We regret that the forms in our New Patient Packet must be completed “the old fashioned way”, but reassure you that your Protected Health Information (PHI) will always be just that… Protected.
